Do they know its Christmas time? – Asda’s Point of Sale

Do they know its Christmas time – Asda?

I was close to an Asda store in Luton today, so I decided to pop in and take a look at their Christmas Promotional Point of Sale to see if they are making an effort this year in light of the economic squeeze, and I have to say I was midly impressed.

As the freshly fallen snow was being brushed away from the threshold and the grit was being scattered, I entered the store and took a deep breath in anticipation. In the first few seconds I was visually bombarded with the seasonal array of printed card board point of sale hanging from pretty much every possible location. To be honest I thought it was a bit overboard and I did wonder for a moment if this rather small store had been sent a Superstore kit by mistake as there was so much of it. But I have to say it quickly transported me into the Christmas mood and I absorbed the atmosphere with delight.

Staff were greeting customers dressed in Santa hats, very eye-catching and colourful floorstickers stretched down the clothes and children’s toy aisles inviting shoppers in, using a very neat twisting ribbon theme. There was a festive hanging banner adorning virtually every category, and wherever I turned there was either a Christmas themed FSU’s, Gondola End kit, bus-stop or seasonal offer.

They had even splashed out on Christmas decorations…..and the extra special range point of sale added an extra sprinkle of quality….

Well done Asda, you cheered up my day, I didn’t spend any money though as I left my wallet in the office by mistake – sorry!
