We were lucky enough to be involved recently with the design and installation of a new range of point of purchase equipment for Gaggia coffee machines in Debenhams, Bentalls and House of Fraser. It was a very high profile project and the key was to deliver exceptional quality to reflect the premium nature of the brand.
Top-end coffee machines are a growing market as consumers want to enjoy the experience of a freshly brewed cappuccino or espresso in the comfort of their own home. Nespresso, the market leaders, reported a 35.5% increase in sales in the UK back in April 2010, boosted no doubt by George Clooney fronting their advertising campaign.
According to Mintel, the in-home coffee market has grown by 17% in value over the past five years, in large part as consumers trade up from the jars of instant to more expensive options. The market is set to grow a further 25% by 2014, the research firm says, and will be worth around £976m.

Love the bright red, it’s hot!
So fascinating that in-home coffee making (the espresso, latte sort) is becoming all the rage. Although my sister just opened her own salon and she got an espresso machine put in and her customers love it.
Thanks so much for sharing this.
And Happy New Year!
